There’s a new touch of classic hot rod style recently added to Austin, Texas. Murpho’s Rods and Customs converted a service station build in 1941 into a one stop lifestyle shop in South Austin. The shop is owned and operated by Murph Murphy and Liana Stevens, in which they decided to combined Murph’s talents for custom car building and restoration with Liana’s experience in the apparel industry to build a complete lifestyle shop dedicated to the classic car scene and hot rod lifestyle. We decided on Austin because it has up and growing hot rod community with nothing else really to support it.

After 25 years in the California classic car scene, Murph has brought his Golden State style of chops to Austin. We’ve got a little bit of everything sitting in the shop right now from a 67 Camaro rally sport to a 46 Mercury. Our shop is bringing the California hot rod style to the Lone Star State and we are currently traveling to car shows and working on our online presence. Murpho’s Rods and Customs was designed to be a community hub for hot rod aficionados to hang out and enjoy the scene. We’ve renovated the entire shop, adding murals, vintage furniture, lounge, and a huge collection of hot rod, pin up, and rockabilly clothing and accessories in Murpho's Boneyard Boutique attached to the car shop.
