AUSTIN- Friday, May 18 2012 There is a hidden gem in South Austin that many have driven by and wondered what exactly it is. The cinderblock building covered with a large bearded lady and hot rod jumping through fire ring shells a very unique boutique. You can find an array of vintage inspired clothing spanning from different fashion subcultures like Rockabilly, Hot Rod, PinUp and Mod. “We like to celebrate the place in time where ladies were ladies and men built camaraderie while working on each others hot rods”

You can definitely find many things here that no other retail shop in town carries whether you are looking for the perfect dress or a unique gift. The boutique carries mens, womens, kids and babies clothes, accessories, shoes as well as art and other unique items. “We really try to keep styles in stock only once to insure what our customer’s purchase will not become something everyone is wearing, we like to support individuality” Liana explained. “ This surely isn’t your regular boutique.”
Most of the clothing in this shop is made right here in the USA. “There are a couple trinkets and accessories that are made overseas but almost all our apparel is made right here in the states.” The women’s styles here are built around fragile femininity showcasing an hourglass shaped figure as well as soft bust lines. A collection of pencil skirts, circle-skirt dresses, stiletto heels, upholstery inspired purses and hair flowers surround you as you walk in. As you make your way through the store you will find men’s hot rod inspired gear including tee shirts, button ups, panel shirts, fedoras, sunglasses and creepers. There are even something for the little ones including creepers, fedoras, button-up and hot rod tees and onsies.
There isn’t to many places you can shop with the hubby quite like this one. Bring your man by and let him check out all the work in progress hot rods, restoration, and customs that sit next door in Murpho’s Rods and Customs shop connected to the boutique. Murph and Liana created this little mom and pop hot rod heaven with their combined skills and passion and now they want to share it with the community and invite one and all to experience this hidden gem right here in South Austin.
